Tens of millions of taxpayer dollars – with an initial cost of around $61 million – much of it borrowed, increasing county government debt – that will be poured into providing the proper sand to carry out the project.

The funds come from taxpayer dollars, meaning that the property between homes and the Gulf will become government controlled beaches – infringing on homeowners’ private property rights.
